Eye Control Computers
For those who have poor control of their movement, or no voluntary movement at all, eye control can offer a comfortable and easy way of accessing a computer. This allows the person to communicate, play games and music, surf the internet or even control appliances in their environment, such as turning lights on or off.
Communication Devices enable people who cannot speak, or those who have difficulty being understood, to communicate more easily with those around them. These range from very simple recorded single-message devices to powerful computers that generate synthesized speech.
For people who cannot operate a normal mouse and keyboard, there are many alternative ways to do so. From a keyboard with extra large buttons, to a mouse that can be controlled using your head, there are many ways to provide computer access. We also offer eye-controlled computers for those who have no other reliable movement.
We have an extensive selection of software for communication, dyslexia and reading difficulties, numeracy and literacy development, improving switch skills, teaching cause and effect and much more. From child-friendly characters teaching important daily tasks to powerful screen-reading and word-prediction software you are sure to find a wealth of resources in this section.
Low Tech solutions are cost effective and straightforward to use. Velcro receptive boards, aprons and other symbol display accessories can be used to create communication tools and are a great way of displaying schedules, classroom themes and sequences of events, particularly helpful for people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Many of our books contain worksheets and lesson plans and can be used to create wonderful home, therapy or classroom resources.
Positioning our products appropriately is a critical factor for its successful use. We supply a range of mounts for iPhones/iPads, switches, communication devices, alternative keyboards and mice, notebooks and eye-tracking computers. These can be desk or wheelchair mounted, attached to a bed or free-standing.
