Snoezelen Rooms: Benefits & How to Use One
Sensory or “Snoezelen” Rooms are spaces within which people can experience calming, enjoyment, targeted stimulation & therapy and communication opportunities.
The dark space, sometimes combined with glowing objects, is also a way to reach children with CVI or profound learning difficulties, as it removes visual distractions and heightens focus.
Presented by a Sensory Integration trained Occupational Therapist, you'll learn about the multiple benefits and applications of sensory rooms, as we show you examples of this beautiful technology.
For any centre or school considering installing a Snoezelen Room, this course provides valuable information about what to consider.
Details: Full day. Light Lunch included. Includes printed notes. Agenda available on request.
Relevant for: Educators, Therapists, Parents
Details: 1 day course, light lunch included.
Cost: Dependant on location, venue & number of participants

Splash! Maths
Splash! is a flexible tool that enables learners with a wide range of abilities to create accurate illustrations for Maths and Science.
- Splash! forms an accessible work space allowing students to carry out Maths, Science and drawing activities, despite physical disabilities, using on-screen tools instead of a pencil.
[tab name='Description']
- It includes full keyboard access, pointer only access or mixed mode control.
- Splash! Primary is aimed at Foundation phase, and Secondary comes with lots of easy-to-use resources for Maths and Science up to approximately Intermediate phase.
- These resources illustrate the huge range and diversity of activities and features that Splash! offers children ages 4 to 16 and older. If you can't use pencils, pens, and crayons or struggle to draw or measure things accurately, or find writing and setting out numbers hard and things won't go down on paper in the way that you want them to, then Splash! can help.
- Splash Primary activities are at approximately Key Stage 1 & 2 level (ages 5 - 7) . Splash! Secondary activities are at approximately Key Stage 3+ (ages 7-11) level.

- Installation Requirements:
- Splash! will run on any Windows machine from XP onwards, both 32-bit and 64-bit. It is not available on other operating systems at this time.
- It does not require any great amount of memory or a fast processor - any fairly modern PC should be sufficient.
