Snoezelen Rooms: Benefits & How to Use One
Sensory or “Snoezelen” Rooms are spaces within which people can experience calming, enjoyment, targeted stimulation & therapy and communication opportunities.
The dark space, sometimes combined with glowing objects, is also a way to reach children with CVI or profound learning difficulties, as it removes visual distractions and heightens focus.
Presented by a Sensory Integration trained Occupational Therapist, you'll learn about the multiple benefits and applications of sensory rooms, as we show you examples of this beautiful technology.

Switches
- Switches are an alternative way for people to control toys, a computer / tablet, or household appliances. They can be placed alongside any body part which can be easily controlled by the user (eg. chin, hand, foot, cheek).
- They perform a 'click' similar to that of a mouse, but do not move around in the same way. A click will activate the toy.
- For computer use, special software allows the user to see when their desired target is highlighted, and then perform the click. In this way, simple games, or full Windows access can be achieved with a switch.
